Rest In Peace Van Wastell

On Friday Sept. 5th, Van Wastell fell from a Berlin hotel window to his death. This is devastating news to all of the skate community. Van was an extremely talented skateboarder from California who came from a family of rippers. His brother, Kurt Wastell, has been a perenial snowboard pro for the last 20 years.

I had the fortunate experience of hanging out with Van back in '03 in Colorado while on tour with Matix. We had a blast and I even ended up giving him my drivers' license because he was still 19 at the time and I felt bad that he couldn't go out. Van went on to rip everything in his path and was only days away from turning pro.

Our condolences go out to his family.
