Hyun-A Ko Toasting Charger

Hyun-A Ko’s “Toasty Charger” eats batteries for healthy mornings…or something like that. This is a design that will make you have a big smile for sure, to use the “Toasty Charger” - you simply slide your lithium ion battery into the slot, push the handle down and wait for it to pop back up again. It goes down to recharge and comes up when it is full. Another creative way to show that a process is complete.

Audi Symphony

These days I find myself searching web for brilliance opposed to the party life. On Saturday night I found an older post of Audi R8 in Brazil. This is an audio-visual composition with this complete orchestra of 41 musicians, 1 maestro and 3 djs. A sound interaction produced with the noise of the Audi vehicles to the screen. This defines innovative!

56 Leonard Street by Herzog & de Meuron: the video

56 Leonard Street from david basulto on Vimeo.
A few months ago we featured an amazing skyscraper by Herzog & de Meuron, that will have a great impact in the skyline of New York. I’m very intrigued by the final result of this project, as it develops a pixelated unit composition that many have propossed, but no one has built.

Now, a friend sent me this amazing video to market the building, done by Tronic Studios. The video reveals some portions of the structure of this building, such as beams that distribute the vertical charges of this particular typology.

I’m a major sucker for neon and the work of Swiss artist Lori Hersberger is right up my alley. Similar to the work of Daniel Firman, I can’t get enough of the sleek, elegant geometrics brought to life with that beautiful chemically-induced chroma-glow.
