Good day all. I have mentioned to a few of you about a special project that the year of... x simon birch will be launching here in Hong Kong in a few weeks, we have collaborated on a special art project. Simon is a friend of mine that I met here in Hong Kong at one of his gallery exhibitions.
The day after we met, I simply approached him to work on a collabo and he was psyched. He said he heard about the year of... and tony magnetic and would be pumped to do it... I was more then excited!!!! Our first project was for a museum installation in singapore. I simply executed some t shirts for him with some graphics he developed to tell a story about life... the 7 icons...They were used for a short film fight seen... This now has turned into a mini collection of the icons on various garments that we will show next holiday season 2008.
The immediate project involves Simon painting on the raw panels of 16 pair of jeans... Half of these panels will then be sewn together to create his works of art... The remaining pieces will be installed into the walls of the space we are creating for the year of... installation / shop at a new shopping destination called Delay No Mall..
To shed some light on Simon's work I have included, the invitation to a special L.Vuitton event that is happening this week here in Hong Kong.
Simon is being honored this Friday evening as L.V's artist of the year Asia winner. that is no small feet... you can see more of simon's work at the linke below as well...
